As a vessel owner on Here2Fish, registering your vessel is the first step to start earning money by sharing your boat with fishing enthusiasts. This guide will walk you through the vessel registration process.
Overview
When you register a vessel, it goes through a verification process to ensure safety and quality standards. Once verified, your vessel becomes available for booking by fishers in your area.
Prerequisites
Before registering a vessel, make sure you:
- Have a Here2Fish account
- Are logged into the app
- Have photos of your vessel ready (at least one photo is required)
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Navigate to Add Vessel
From the app:
- Open the Profile tab
- Tap “Vessel Owner” or navigate to the Vessel Owner dashboard
- Tap “Add Vessel” or the “+” button
2. Fill in Basic Information
Required Fields:
- Vessel Name: A memorable name for your boat (e.g., “Sea Breeze”, “Reel Time”)
- Vessel Type: Select from options like Fishing Boat, Pontoon, Speed Boat, Yacht, Sailboat, Jet Ski, Canoe, Kayak, or Other
- Capacity: The maximum number of people your vessel can safely accommodate
- Description: Write a compelling description that highlights what makes your vessel special
- Location: Set your vessel’s location where it’s available for bookings
Optional but Recommended Fields:
- Manufacturer/Make: The boat manufacturer (e.g., Boston Whaler, Grady-White)
- Model: The specific model name
- Year: The year your vessel was built
- Length: Vessel length in feet
- Engine Information: Engine make, model, year, and horsepower
- Fuel Capacity: Fuel tank capacity
3. Upload Vessel Photos
- Minimum: At least one photo is required
- Recommended: 3-5 high-quality photos showing:
- Overall exterior view
- Interior/cockpit area
- Key features or amenities
- Fishing gear or equipment
- Photos help potential renters visualize their experience
4. Configure Booking Modes
Here2Fish supports multiple booking modes for different rental experiences:
DIY Mode (Do-It-Yourself)
- What it is: Fishers rent the entire vessel and operate it themselves
- Pricing: Set your price per hour
- When enabled: Your vessel appears in DIY search results
Fishing Buddy Mode
- What it is: You join the fishing trip and operate the vessel
- Pricing: Set your price per seat (excluding yourself)
- Capacity: Automatically set to your vessel capacity minus 1 (reserves your seat)
Buddy Pass Mode (Subscription Required)
- What it is: Exclusive mode for All Star members offering one-on-one fishing trips
- Pricing: Set your price per buddy
- Capacity: Fixed at 2 people (you + 1 buddy)
- Requirement: Must have an active Buddy Pass subscription
Note: You can enable multiple booking modes for the same vessel to maximize booking opportunities.
5. Set Additional Fees (Optional)
You can configure optional fees:
- Launch Fee: Fee for launching the vessel
- Retrieval Fee: Fee for retrieving the vessel
- Young Driver Fee: Additional fee for drivers under a certain age
- Insurance: Optional insurance coverage for vessel damage protection
6. Set Rules and Policies
- Cancellation Policy: Default is 24-hour cancellation policy, but you can customize
- Rules: Any specific rules for using your vessel (e.g., no smoking, catch and release only)
7. Submit for Verification
Once all required information is filled out:
- Review all information for accuracy
- Tap “Submit” or “Register Vessel”
- Your vessel will be submitted with status: “Pending Verification”
Verification Process
After submission:
- Pending Review: Here2Fish team reviews your vessel information
- Verification: The team may request additional documentation:
- Vessel registration documents
- Insurance information
- Safety equipment verification
- Approval: Once verified, your vessel status changes to “Active”
- Rejection: If there are issues, you’ll receive feedback and can resubmit
After Registration
Once your vessel is verified and active:
- It appears in search results for fishers
- You can start receiving booking requests
- You can edit vessel details anytime from the Vessel Owner dashboard
- You can manage bookings, earnings, and availability

- Status: Vessels start as “pending_verification” and become “active” after approval
